2014-15 Top 200 Overall Fantasy Hockey Rankings

Our staff consensus position breakdowns are important in draft tools, but if looking to set your overall draft plans for the season, Chris Meaney’s 2014-15 Top 200 Overall Fantasy Hockey Rankings are designed to give you insight into relative value across positions as well.

My 2014-15 Top 200 Overall Fantasy Hockey Rankings are changing by the day as we creep closing to regular season puck drop. Sidney Crosby is of course my number 1 overall pick. How bold of me. For the most part, you’ll see the same top 10 on every Top 200 Overall Fantasy Hockey list you come across. Crosby, Steven Stamkos, Alex Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin and Corey Perry all make for excellent picks and starts to your Fantasy Hockey draft, but you don’t often win your league in the first round. It’s the steals you grab along the way and in the later rounds of your draft.

I feel it’s important to have a top 5-8 goalie on your squad. However you rank them, it doesn’t matter. Grab one in the first three or four rounds. In my last mock – displayed here at Rotoworld – 11 goalies went before the end of the fourth round. Tuukka Rask is my top ranked goalie, he will most likely go near the end of the first, early second and then the run of netminders will start. If you pick early in the first, you could probably grab Corey Crawford, Ben Bishop or Sergei Bobrovsky when it comes back around. Grab a couple snipers first hand.

There are a few players I like more than others in my Top 200 Overall Fantasy Hockey Rankings according to FantasyPros Expert Consensus Rankings. Carey Price, Nathan MacKinnon, James van Riemsdyk, Jakub Voracek, Gustav Nyquist, Radim Vrbata, Reilly Smith, Alex Galchenyuk, Jakob Silfverberg and Tomas Hertle are all targets of mine.

Patrik Elias, Shane Doan, Johan Franzen, Clarke MacArthur, Rick Nash, Zdeno Chara, Daniel Sedin and Pavel Datsyuk are a few players I like a bit less than other FantasyPros rankers.
