No surprise here that Sidney Crosby leads down the middle in our Fantasy Hockey Center Rankings. Not only is 87 the number one Fantasy Hockey Center here inside the locker room, but he’s the consensus number one overall pick come draft day. With that said, one can make a case for Steven Stamkos coming off an injury shortened campaign, especially in a goal heavy format. Climbing his way up the rankings, though, is another NHLer from Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia as the Nathan MacKinnon hype is as real as ever heading into his sophomore year. Not one member of our staff has him outside their Top 15. I guess they don’t believe in the so called sophomore jinx. With 63 points as an 18 year old rookie there is certainly reason to believe that MacKinnon has room to make a big impact in 2014.
Tyler Seguin excelled in his first season with the Dallas Starts and he is arguably a top 5 pick at his position this season according to our experts. John Tavares says he is fully recovered from a knee injury, but does it hurt his draft stock? He may come cheaper on draft day because of it and that bodes well for fans of his. Gustav Nyquist and Evgeny Kuznetsov each head into their first full season in the NHL and bring a ton of Fantasy Hockey upside with their arrival to the show. Paul Stastny, Jason Spezza, Ryan Kesler, Brad Richards and Mike Cammalleri switch uniforms in 2014-15 – our ranks above suggest each staffer’s opinion on their relative value with their new clubs. jordan Staal has been removed due to his recent leg injury.
